Gawler & Barossa Jockey Club Manager
Situated in one of the major horse precincts in SA, and with a history dating back to 1891, the racecourse has undergone a multi million dollar redevelopment in the last two years and is now a premier racing facility in SA racing 19 times per year at present. The Club is seeking someone to manage, promote and develop the racing facilities and function centre, into this exciting new era of horseracing in Gawler.
Gawler township with a population of over 20,000 is situated 40 kms north of the Adelaide CBD.
Key functional areas of responsibility include:
- Race Day operations and course maintenance
- Function management
- Staff Management and training
- Hospitality and beverage requirements
- Sponsorship
- Racing industry liaison
- Publicity and community engagement
We expect the successful applicant to:
- Have worked in a management role
- Have proven leadership skills
- To be successful in dealing with all people
- Have practical experience in the horse/racing industry
- Benefit from experience in a hospitality role
